Over the last week, I have had many clients complain of poor sleep.
I never paid much attention to astrological events until I saw them coincide with my clients complaining of similar symptoms.
During Mercury Retrograde, I often find four out of six clients in a day are…
- Unable to sleep (waking between 3:00 – 5:00 am)
- More agitated or anxious
- More overwhelmed with a racing mind
- Carrying muscular tension, TMJ
So when I saw this article from MindBodyGreen.com about how Mercury Retrograde can affect your sleep, it was confirmation of what I have been witnessing for years!
Apparently…
Each planet governs different parts of the body, and in the case of Mercury, it’s associated with our nervous system, among other things.
It goes without saying that anyone with an unsettled nervous system is going to have a tough time relaxing into a good night’s sleep. And on top of that, our minds may be working overtime during Mercury retro to make sense of all the scrambled information. (As it is known to affect communication, information, logic, and transportation, urging us to review how we are living our lives.)
As we find ourselves reuniting with people from the past, reassessing memories, and revising certain areas of our life, all this “revision” can seep into our sleep—and our dreams.

Oh, I forgot to mention, vivid dreams!
During this time, don’t be alarmed if you tend to experience a heightened dream state in which day time stressors get worked out and processed.
To help you calm your central nervous system and get a more restful night’s sleep…

Thank you, Lara! This is a wonderful exercise! I am so much calmer and I intend to use this when I go to bed. I sleep a lot but often wake up very fatigued anyway. I hope this will help!
Thanks,
Marilynn
I hope it helps, too!
