Three Magic Words to Ease Overwhelm

SHARE

Feeling the pressure to get everything done before the school year starts?

To get all the doctor appointments in, school supplies bought, and still enjoy summer fun while it lasts?

This past week, while stuck at a stoplight, I looked into my rearview mirror and noticed my brows were furrowed from stress.

Then I paused and reminded myself of something that always calms me down: a simple mantra that has helped me tackle even the longest to-do lists.

Three words. Little by little.

That’s the truth. It’s how everything actually gets done.

We all wish that with a flick of a switch, everything would fall into place instantly, perfectly. But in reality, when things happen too quickly, they can overwhelm us. It’s like trying to adjust to a tidal wave of change all at once. Even when we see people rocket to success, they often struggle to manage the pressure that comes with it.

Because the sustainable way forward? It’s all about pacing ourselves.

And shifting to that mindset has an immediate effect. Repeat this phrase in your head, and see how it feels……….Little by little, I can get everything done with greater ease. Just saying this helps me exhale.

Maybe you’ve got a massive deadline looming, and you haven’t even started. Or you’re leading a high-stakes project at work. Or perhaps it’s something personal—like tackling a fitness goal or recovering from an injury.

Whatever it is that feels so overwhelming right now, think about it as you do this exercise with me. It helps you relax as you give yourself space and grace.

Place one hand gently on your cheek, and the other hand around your wrist.

Let your head rest in your hand, your elbow supported by your desk or your knee.

Or try this while lying on your side, especially if your racing mind is keeping you from drifting off to sleep 😉

You’re activating key acupressure points that help release stored stress and tension, allowing you to relax and trust the flow of life.

Now, breathe and repeat these words silently with me:

“Little by little, I can get it all accomplished, with greater ease, in good time.
Little by little, I can get it all done, with greater ease, over time.
Little by little, it’s all happening with more and more ease and grace.”

Say these phrases a few more times. Feel the tension melting away? Notice how giving yourself permission to take it slow opens up space for you to breathe, to move forward—without pressure.

How does it feel now? Is it easier to take that first step?

I believe in you. And I believe in little by little.

We can do this—with softness, ease, and grace.

So much love,
