How I Got Over Worry and Found So Much More.

So, when we got back a week ago Saturday from our honeymoon, I started to get anxious. I had put a list of business related projects on hold while I was planning the wedding and, now that we were back, I was feeling overwhelmed by the pressure I was placing on myself to get them completed. All these projects are things I have been planning for a while, and it felt like, since it has been so long, these things needed to be done yesterday! Been there?

I knew I was being overly hard on myself, so I felt a sense of relief when the gospel message at church on Sunday was about giving your worries over to God. For those of you who prefer calling your higher power the Universe, I have used this word in place of God.

We have all heard the phrase, give it up to God or the Universe.

So, what does it mean to do this, give our worries over to a higher power? How do we successfully do it? Why does it work? Why did it work for me?

First, I felt it was such a surprising coincidence that the words being read that Sunday were just what I needed to hear that day.

Check out these lines:

Do not worry about your life,
what you will eat or drink,
or about your body, what you will wear.
Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing?
Look at the birds in the sky;
they do not sow or reap, they gather nothing into barns,
yet your heavenly Father feeds them.

Can any of you by worrying add a single moment to your life-span?
Why are you anxious about clothes?
Learn from the way the wild flowers grow.
They do not work or spin.

If God (Universe) so clothes the grass of the field,
which grows today and is thrown into the oven tomorrow,
will he not much more provide for you, O you of little faith?
So do not worry and say, “What are we to eat?”
or “What are we to drink?” or “What are we to wear?”
All these things the pagans seek.
Your heavenly Father (Universe) knows that you need them all.

I interrupt this passage to share another from Mike Dooley’s TUT, Messages from the Universe. He sends lovely messages from The Universe, which beautifully illustrate The Law of Attraction, and I love receiving them!

When you stop and reflect that thoughts become things, unconditionally, without exception, no matter what, no matter who’s, and you grasp that this is an immutable law that throws all of the elements into overdrive on your behalf, don’t you just want to cry for those who still keep looking for answers?

Me too,
The Universe

Now, I would like to share with you a translation of The Lord’s Prayer directly from Aramaic. It really talks about The Law of Attraction!

O Breathing Life, your Name shines everywhere!
Release a space to plant your Presence here.
Envision your “I Can” now.
Embody your desire in every light and form.
Grow through us this moment’s bread and wisdom.
Untie the knots of failure binding us,
as we release the strands we hold of others’ faults.
Help us not forget our Source, yet free us from not being in the Present.
From you arises every vision, power and song, from gathering to gathering.
Amen: may our future actions grow from here!

Now, back to the end of the gospel from 2 weeks ago, which I began with my thoughts plastered in.

But seek first the kingdom of God
( Have faith in your connection to the Universe ) and his righteousness, ( and its innate loving goodness )
and all these things will be given you besides.
( And you can co-create all things )
Do not worry about tomorrow; tomorrow will take care of itself.

Giving up worry to a higher power frees us up to see how much we have, how we are already connected to all that is, so we can continue to co-create more of what we want.

Something striking from this past Sunday’s gospel about Adam and Eve eating the forbidden fruit. After they ate the fruit, “they realized they were naked.”

All was well, till they realized they didn’t have clothes, but they didn’t need them before?!

It’s in the wanting and the worrying that we loose our connection to our higher power and our ability to co-create with the Universe.

Saw Paul Selig, an amazing channel this past Thursday at The Meta Center, and truly had an experience of the Divine in me and everyone else in that room. I made a short video with the exercise we did in the workshop, so you could possibly experience it too. Saying these phrases got me profoundly connected pretty quickly.

Click below to see that, and see if you can’t give up any worry today to God or the Universe, and connect with what you have now.

This video should help, so check it out.

Much love and abundance,
Lara
