Take a Lesson from Oprah and Deepak
What I am so glad I didn’t miss from Oprah and Deepak!
I don’t know about you, but I find it tough to keep track of all the great information out there. I almost missed this and was so glad I didn’t. So, in this series of blogs, here are my favorite quotes from Oprah’s interview with Deepak Chopra and an exercise to help you use these gems in your own life. Its great to read all of this inspiring spiritual stuff, and I find it even more useful when I use it with what Bruce Lipton calls, “Super Learning Techniques” or exercises which help you physically download this information into your brain, so you get it on a real physical, subconscious level. I know this sounds like Greek, so here’s an example of what I am talking about…
In this interview with Oprah, Deepak Chopra said,
“The most important moment is now
The most important person is the one you are looking at right now
The most important thing you could do in your life is what u are doing now.
The best way to prepare for the future is to be totally present now.
Forget all your learning.
Now is the moment that never ends.”
Being present to what is happening around you can be tough when we have so many demands on our time and psyche, so many emails to read, problems to solve, things to multi-task on. Its difficult to turn our brains off and just be in the moment. So, here’s an exercise to help you use what Deepak shared with Oprah to help you actually easily DO what he is talking about. Its super easy and will only take 2 minutes if you do it with me now.
- Look at your surroundings right now. What is the color of the wall near you? Focus on it, and take a deep breath, 3 counts in and 3 counts out.
- What is the color of the floor? Focus son it and take a deep breath, 3 counts in and 3 counts out.
- What is the color of the sky or ceiling right now? Focus on it and take a deep breath, 3 counts in and 3 counts out.
- What is the color of your shirt? Focus on the color, and take a deep breath, 3 counts in and 3 counts out.
Lara-
Congratulations, you are now ACTUALLY DOING what Deepak is talking about! You are BEING PRESENT NOW! You did it!
Use this when you want to clear your head and get more grounded. It’s a great way to get present fast when you don’t have much time!
